OPERATIONS MANAGER
The Irish Pony Club is a Voluntary Youth Organisation. It is the main equestrian organisation that provides training
and competition for young people in Showjumping, Dressage, Eventing, Mounted Games, Combined Training, Hunter
Trials, Tetrathlon, and other fun activities and Stable Management.
The Irish Pony Club endeavours to promote and encourage horsemanship, sportsmanship,
the Irish Pony Club has 3,200 members in 55 branches throughout the Republic of Ireland.
We are currently recruiting for OPERATIONS MANAGER who will be responsible for the management and planning
of all activities of the Irish Pony Club. The Operations Manager will report to the Board of Directors of The Irish Pony
Club.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Management and coordination of National IPC competitions
• Staff and Office Management experience, and knowledge of HR legislation
Coordination of volunteers who are an essential and valued component of IPC, and management of
Instructors Database
Development of relationship with umbrella sporting bodies
Management of Finances, Cash Flow, Budgeting, and Sponsors
• Responsibility for communications with members, volunteers, and wider public, via website and social media.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience in a previous management role, co-ordinating staff with organisation objectives
Ability to communicate well and manage staff and other related parties
Have equestrian experience, and desirable to have knowledge of PC Competitions, and the workings of the
Irish Pony Club
Strong IT literacy, strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Must have a ‘hands – on’ approach completing own Reports and communications, and ability to adjust
quickly to changing circumstances
The Operations Manager must be prepared to be central ‘Go To’ coordinator with the running of IPC
Championship competitions.
Knowledge of GDPR issues within a youth organisation and experience in other youth sport organisation as a
participant, parent or official would be desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience collaborating with various vested parties
This position requires the Operations Manager to be principally in office during summer season in Urlingford
Co.Kilkenny, the position can be on a hybrid basis off season.
Experience handling the finances and being responsible for the finances of an organisation.
Salary commensurate with experience

Assistant Administrator

Assistant Administrator in our head office.
Monday – Friday with weekend requirements during spring/ summer season
9am -5pm
€29,000 annually /Time in lieu for weekends
Based in Urlingford Co.Kilkenny
Duties
• General administration, filing, scanning, photocopying and email management
• Dealing with queries over the phone and via email
• Assisting with event planning, championships and training days
• Updating social media and the Irish Pony Club website
• System audits
• Other duties as they are assigned
Requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, IT Packages and internet skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Must be able to manage time and meet deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Full clean drivers licence
• Available to work weekends

Background
The Irish Pony Club (IPC) is a Voluntary Youth Organisation. It is the main equestrian Organisation that provides training and competition in Showjumping, Dressage, Eventing, Mounted Games, Combined Training, Hunter Trials, Tetrathlon, other fun activities and stable management for young people. Our aim is to help our members make IPC equine activities safe for young people while encouraging them to reach their full potential. Protecting our young members is the first priority of the IPC. The IPC is responsible for fifty-five Branches, spread across nine regions with approximately three thousand members. A vacancy has arisen for the voluntary position of National Children’s Officer.
Duties
- Communicating with Branch Children's Officers to ensure the implementation of the IPC Code of Ethics and Safeguarding Policy and the promotion of related education programs, materials, events and governing body related documents with the assistance of the IPC office staff.
- To monitor and feedback on Branches implementation programs in respect of the Code of Ethics and conduct on-site visits as
- Be familiar with the Children First Act, Sport Ireland’s Safeguarding Guidance for Children and Young People in Sport, the IPC Code of Ethics, Codes of Conduct and Safeguarding Policies to ensure they can act as an information source to other members of the
- Attendance at IPC Equestrian Executive Committee meetings (approximately five per year) and attendance at appropriate training as required to act as a resource to members in relation to children's
- Monitoring of child welfare statutory guidance and
- To act as a point of contact for all Safeguarding
- Proactively promote safeguarding related campaigns to all stakeholders, for example anti- bullying and safety when using social media
