Be a Volunteer
The Irish Pony Club is a Voluntary Youth Organisation.
How does it work?
Volunteers are the back bone of the organisation and the IPC could not survive without the support of the loyal and dedicated volunteers who provide outstanding work at all of our activities.
The IPC would not be the organisation that it is today without our wonderful volunteers from around the country.
Why Volunteer?
- Strengthen your CV content
- Learn new skills
- See different disciplines in action
- Support your local community
- Make new friends and have fun!
- Give back to the organisation that you love!
What do our volunteers do?
There are many ways to assist at activities held throughout the country depending on the nature of the event but they can include:
- Call Up Stewards
- Tack Stewards
- Safety Stewards
- Dressage Writing
- Sheet Collection
- Arena Party
- Fence Judge
- Control & Commentating
- Starters & Finishers
- Scorers
- Catering
Organisers try to keep the roles interesting and rewarding by swapping people around and providing breaks, but this is of course entirely dependent on how many volunteers they manage to recruit.
How Can I Volunteer?
Irish Pony Club Branches are run by volunteers, who make up the Branch Committee and help to run the events, administer Branch activity and communicate with the Members.
You can find your nearest branch by visiting the Branches and Area Representatives page on our website to find the branch nearest to you.
A list of upcoming events and contact information is available on the Activities Page. Don’t be shy, Organiser’s will be more than delighted to receive your call.
