IPC Dressage team 3rd at RWHS

Irish Pony Club Dressage Team placed 3rd at the RWHS

The Irish Pony Club Dressage team competed at the PCUK Dressage Home International dressage competition on 12th May at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.  They all performed brilliantly in challenging circumstances, which included the trooping past (three times!) of the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, culminating in their 6-gun salute in the main arena, which coincided with the last test.  The English rider and her horse coped magnificently, as did Irish rider Jodie Scully and her horse who had remained in the warm-up arena.

The Irish team placed 3rd overall, which is a fantastic result against such strong competition! Amber Lane on Barkway State affair (Duhallow Hunt Branch) placed second in the Novice class, Lucy Maughan on Cuffestown Flyover Lady (Kildare Hunt Branch) was 6th and Yasmin Hughes on Lightning McQueen (Sligo Hunt Branch) was 8th in the Intermediate class.  Jodie Scully on Lassban Silhouette was 7th and Zara Kelly on Roo Too was 8th (both Bray Hunt Branch) in the Open class.

Many congratulations to all who competed,  they were wonderful ambassadors for the Irish Pony Club and the PCUK were delighted that we were able to send a team this year and are looking forward to next year already! Huge thanks to our Chef D'Équipe Marie Hennessy, and the riders' parents and trainers, for their work and dedication in getting the team to Windsor.
