Tetrathlon Chairman’s Address,
Dear Competitors, Parents and extend Tetrathlon Family,
It’s great to be back out competing after many setbacks and cancellations, we really looking forward to the weekend, especially Saturday in Killossery Lodge Stud, kindly hosted by the Glynn Family. They have produced a wonderful Championship course with lots of options. We are still under strict Covid guidelines, so bare with us and listen to our stewards and Covid stewards. We will do the utmost for you to have the most enjoyable weekend.
The last 18 months have been particularly hard on everyone due to the pandemic but sadly some families have had to endure more hardship than others throughout this time. The Irish Pony Club would like to remember all our members who sadly passed away during the year – Grace Tyrell, Tiggy Hancock, Susanna O’Dowd & Gabriella Weaver.
Gabriella Weaver was an important part of our large Tetrathlon Family. She represented Ireland on many occasions, a keen rider, excellent runner, accurate shot but her swimming was where she excelled. A member of the Roscommon Branch and Trident Swimming Club, she pursued her love of swimming to University and was part of the Irish National Swim team. By virtue of this, we would like to introduce a new trophy to our existing collection, named in Gabriella’s memory. The trophy represents her contribution to the swimming discipline within Tetrathlon.
Gabriella is remembered fondly by all who knew her, along with her fellow members who we sadly lost over the past year. “The candle that burns twice as bright, burns half as long”
John flood, Tetrathlon Chairman
