Irish Pony Club News

The Pony Club Junior International Tetrathlon takes place this weekend from June 1st to 2nd in Moreton Morrell, Warwickshire.  Forty four Irish Tetrathletes will make the journey to represent the Irish Pony Club in this years competition.

Selecting the final teams for these international trips is one of the most difficult jobs faced by the Tetrathlon trainers.  This year proved no different.  The standard was really high and the final selections were very tough to make.  Congratulations to everyone who will travel to England this weekend.  Well done also to all Irish Pony Club members who attended the 2019 Junior Tetrathlon Squad trainings.  The experience will stand to you in the IPC championships this year.

Nineteen different Branches from across the country are represented on this team.  This is a fantastic achievement and it is a credit to the Branches and the great work that they do with all of their members.  The forty four IPC members who will travel to England this weekend have put in a humongous effort to prepare for this competition.  The squad has trained every weekend since February.

Under the guidance of team managers and chaperones, Seán Sargent and John Flood , the team will travel to England on Friday (May 31st) and competition will begin on Saturday June 1st with the shooting and swimming phases.  The cross country riding and running phases will take place on Sunday 2nd June.

We hope that everyone travelling to the UK has a great weekend and a safe trip.  The friendships that you will make during this journey will last a lifetime.  Enjoy every moment and good luck from all in the Irish Pony Club.
