John Flood (Tetrathlon Chairman) and the Irish Pony Club Tetrathlon Committee would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the 2019 National Minimus Championships in the Green Glens Arena in Millstreet.
Firstly, we would like to thank all of our sponsors. Johnson & Perrott Landrover will sponsor the Minimus Championships in 2019 and we are very grateful for their generous sponsorship and support. Thank you for helping us to create another excellent championship. Sincere thanks must also go to Horseware Ireland. Horseware sponsored all of the excellent prizes for the 2019 National Minimus Championships. Their support was invaluable. Mel Doyle photography generously sponsored a first place prize for the winners of the overall team competition. Mel Doyle is a long standing supporter of the Minimus and Tetrathlon Championships and we would like to thank him for his generous sponsorship. The National Minimus Championships is a very special event. We are sincerely grateful to all of our sponsors including our fence sponsors for the effort and the time that they put into this competition.
The facilities at the Green Glens Arena in Millstreet are world class and it was a huge privilege to hold these championships in Millstreet. Thank you to Thomas Duggan and the Duggan family for kindly giving us permission to use their facilities in Millstreet. Special thanks also to all of the staff in Millstreet who were extremely helpful throughout the entire preparation, planning and organisation of the event.
Thank you must also go to the huge number of volunteers who worked so hard over the weekend. We would like to especially thank Catherine Healy, Area 5 Representative, Michael Essame, Area 9 Representative and the Branches of Area 5, who worked tirelessly, not just this last weekend but over the past few weeks and months to help to organise this event. Thank you to all of the members of the Tetrathlon committee who each had a pivotal role in organising an aspect of the competition. A word of thanks also to our course designer and builder, Graham Boyd, for creating an excellent cross country course that was challenging but with enough options to allow competitors of all standards and abilities to ride the course safely and get home.
From Friday afternoon volunteers assisted with parking, camping and stabling, ably led by Máire Hourigan, Nicky Harvey, Gaelle Daly, Catherine Healy and members of Area 5 Branches. Thank you for all of your support and assistance. On Saturday the cross-country competition would not have been possible without the many fence judges, warm-up, call-up and tack personnel, starters and timers who helped. On Sunday, again a sincere thank you to the many volunteers who helped ensure the swimming and running phases ran smoothly. Finally, thank you to everyone who participated in creating this successful event, not forgetting the IPC office staff, Jane, Tara and Maria.
A huge big thank you to all involved, too numerous to mention.
