PONY CLUB Dressage

Dressage is the highest expression of training where horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of predetermined movements. it develops obedience, flexibility and balance in the horse, and is therefore the basis for all other equestrian disciplines. The ‘Pure dressage’ competition is for teams of three/four riders of any age, who ride a Novice level test in a 60m long arena.

Following on from National Dressage Day 2019, the Dressage and Combined Training committee of the Irish Pony Club have created a feedback form to capture your thoughts and comments following the competition.

The Irish Pony Club Dressage and Combined Training Committee are delighted to announce that they will hold a Dressage and Show Jumping Clinic on Wednesday 15th April 2020 at Tipperary Equestrian Centre.

The Area 4 Festival Dressage and Combined Training Qualifier hosted by Killinick Harriers Hunt Branch will take place on Saturday 20th July 2019.

The Ares 3 Festival Qualifier will take place on Wednesday 17th July in Ballinamona Equestrian Centre, Waterford.

The Area 9 Show Jumping, Dressage and Combined Training Festival Qualifier will take place on Saturday 13th July at Crag Caves, Castleisland, Co. Kerry.

The Area 1 Festival Dressage and Combined Training Qualifier hosted by Wicklow Hunt Branch will take place on Tuesday 9th July in Barnadown Show Jumping.

Results from National Dressage Day 2019 are now available to download from the Results page of the Irish Pony Club website.

National Dressage Day 2019, which is generously sponsored by TRI Equestrian will be held in Spruce Lodge on Saturday 4th of May.

The Area 2 Festival Pure Dressage and Combined Training qualifier will be hosted by Kildare Hunt Branch on Sunday 19th May in Coilóg Equestrian Centre (Eircode: W91CTR2).

The 2019 Irish Pony Club Festival Championships will once again be held in Barnadown Show Jumping on Thursday 25th, Friday 26th and Saturday 27th July 2019.
