Don't miss your opportunity to attend the 2019 Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) Coaching & Breeding Conference at Cavan Equestrian Centre on Tuesday, 3rd of December.
The Conference is a fantastic opportunity for all coaches to expand their knowledge with practical sessions and interviews with some of top industry professionals, including Judy Reynolds, Richard Waygood and Dr. Gerd Heuschmann.
This year alone, Irish Olympic Dressage Rider, Judy Reynolds pulled off a stunning performance in the FEI Dressage European Championships 2019 to secure the Irish dressage team their first ever place at the Olympics (Tokyo 2020). In doing so, Judy set a new Irish Grand Prix record scoring an impressive 76.351%. This streak of class continued through the week where Judy set a new Irish International record in the Grand Prix Special, finishing fifth with a score of 78.2% and again setting a new Irish record in the Freestyle to Music finishing fifth with a score of 85.5%.
Chef d’Equipe for the British Eventing squad, Richard Waygood, helped Britain secure team and individual gold medals at the 2018 World Equestrian Games. Before his eventing success Waygood was the British High-performance Dressage Manager from 2010 until 2016. During his time with this squad he achieved team and individual Olympic gold medals in London 2012, as well as team gold in the European Championships 2011.
Professional rider, veterinarian, international lecturer and Author. Dr. Gerd Heuschmann will join us to discuss production of young horses. In 2008 he published his book 'Tug of War' which highlights the importance of correct training methods and the long-term impact of incorrect training methods on a horse’s potential. This was followed up four years later with his second book 'The Balancing Act' which emphasises the importance of being a responsible rider.
