Following the statement made by the Taoiseach yesterday, the Irish Pony Club has been carefully considering all of the measures outlined by the Department of Health.

Until the 29th of March, indoor mass gatherings of 100 people or more and outdoor mass gatherings of more than 500 people should be cancelled or postponed.  In light of these announcements,  the Irish Pony Club have decided to suspend all Branch, Area and National activities, training, meetings, rallies etc. until the 29th of March.   We will continue to review the situation, in line with the advice received from the Department of Health and the Health Service Executive (HSE) between now and the end of the month, assessing the impact of these measures.

We would urge all Branches and members to follow the guidelines and advice provided by the Department of Health and the HSE, to minimise the risks of infection as well as what you should do if you feel unwell and are developing symptoms, this can be found in greater detail within the links below.

Some simple control measures include:

  • Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
  • When coughing and sneezing cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – throw tissue away immediately and wash your hands.
  • Avoid close contact with anyone who has fever and cough.
