Chairman Of Tetrathlon Minimus Address
A very warm welcome back to you all to real events and Minimus without restrictions and with full capacity again, it is wonderful to see and be a part of it again and I hope you all enjoyed it too.
Our Minimus weekend was I feel a great success and a most enjoyable weekend for all, competitors and spectators alike and there are many people I need to thank wholeheartedly in the organisation and running of this fantastic event;
To our sponsors Auto Boland Jaguar Land Rover thank you so much for your continued and generous support it is greatly appreciated.
To the Maher Family for the use of their venue and facilities at Nuenna Farm which are truly magnificent we are so thankful for your constant support every year and for allowing the option of camping on site this year which was a marvellous addition to the whole weekend for all our happy campers!
The Racecourse in Thurles which was a superb location which offered everything was graciously offered by the Moloney Family and I cannot express my thanks enough for allowing us to use such an iconic venue for our running phase and prize giving.
Also, to Thurles Leisure Centre for the use of their pool for our swimming phase and our volunteers at the pool.
To Dunnes garden centre Durrow who loaned us all the plants and flowers to make the Cross-Country course look even better we thank you also. I also have to thank all our volunteers who helped in creating the Cross-Country course, in building, painting or any way you helped your efforts were immense and this showed over the weekend with how well the course looked. Just a special thank you to Mr. Ivan Hatton who was phase steward of the riding for all his hard work in this. One of our Pony Club members T.J Dillon of D-Jumps who spent the week building the course with us.
As Chairman of the Tetrathlon Committee I could not do this without the help and support of all my committee members for which I am truly grateful for and humbled by – thank you all! But just a particular thank you to Committee members Lesley Hutchinson in her organising of the event which was so seamless, Pat Greene and Sean Sargent for their precision work in the scoring, Julie Quinn for the swimming phase and Eoin Seymour for the running phase. To all our competitors well done! You have all been exemplary in your conduct and are a credit not only to your clubs and families but to our sport and to the Irish Pony Club, please continue being such wonderful ambassadors for us all.
Finally, to the 12th man as it were, to all the families, D.C’s, trainers and all our volunteers without your help we would not be able to run any event. All this time, effort and encouragement you give to the children is invaluable and I can not full express how much you are all valued and appreciated in all that you do.
I hope you all enjoyed the weekend and I look forward to Minimus 2023!
