Irish Pony Club return to activities update 13th April 2021

Irish Pony Club return to activities update 13th April 2021

The IPC Executive committee has agreed that the IPC will follow the guidelines issued by Horse Sport Ireland, which are based on the guidelines issued by the Government.

At IPC activities, the Covid guidelines detailed in the IPC Return to Activity plan Step 2 (dated 20th July 2020) NB disregarding the dates, should be followed until further notice. See also the Returning to Activity plan FAQs; both documents are available on the IPC website Downloads page under 'Covid 19 supporting documents'.

Under level 5, one to one coaching is permitted.

Competitions for under 18-year-olds are not permitted, except for ‘virtual’ competitions.

From 12th   April, travel within your own county or  20 km of your home if crossing county borders.

From 26th April, outdoor sports facilities can re-open, and under-age non-contact training in pods of 15 or fewer can restart.  IPC members can therefore attend Branch activities within their own county or 20 km from their home if crossing county borders  More than one group can attend an activity at a venue so long as they can be kept completely separate.

NB Until further notice, people who are in self isolation or have been in contact with people self-isolating may not attend IPC activities.  Guidelines on social distancing, sanitisation, hand washing, wearing of masks, cough and sneeze etiquette still apply.

Camp may be possible later in the year, so it is recommended that Branches start to plan for this - it is preferable to plan and then cancel rather than try to organise at short notice!

Competitions at Area and National level may be possible later in the year, depending on HSI and Government guidelines.
