Irish Pony Club Instructors Register 2017

The Irish Pony Club Instructors Register for 2017 is now open. 

In order to be listed in the Irish Pony Club Who’s Who/Year Book 2017, you must register online on or before Sunday  8th January 2017 11am and pay the registration fee of €20.

  • IPC Garda Vetting (every five years)
  • Up to date First Aid Certificate
  • Child Protection
  • 5CPD Points have been obtained in 2016

NEW U12 Show Jumping Championship Competition

The official launch of the new Under 12, Alice Mernagh Show Jumping Championship took place at the Area 4 Training Day in Grennan Equestrian College on Friday 22nd April.

The Show Jumping Committee announced the over 8 and under 12 competition earlier this year and was warmly welcomed by the parents of members amongst the branches within the Irish Pony Club.

Among those at the official launch was the Chairman of the Executive, Mrs Barbara Micks, the new Show Jumping Chairman, Mr. Syl Ryan. Also in attendance, Mrs. Alice Mernagh, past Chairman of the Irish Pony Club and in whose honour the new U12 competition has been named after.

The first Show Jumping Area Qualifier took place in Coilóg Equestrian Centre on Sunday 24th April where there was a great turn out for all classes. The U12 Show Jumping Final will take place in Mullingar Equestrian Centre at the Irish Pony Club Festival on Saturday 6th August.

Young Breeders Training Day

the next training day for the Young Breeders is on Saturday April 30th from 1.30-4.30pm on the farm of Barry O Connor, Malahide, Co. Dublin (agent responsible for the €1.4million purchase of Dougie Douglas at Goresbridge last year).

Fabulous opportunity to hear what Barry values in terms of conformation and athleticism traits and how he assesses horses for the market.

This is a rare opportunity to hear insights on successfully coaching riders from internationally acclaimed, HSI accredited Coach – Niall Quirk.

Niall Quirk has been involved with the development of the HSI Coaching Programme since its inception. Niall coaches and delivers clinics all over the world and has been an integral part of developing the dressage coaching structure in South Africa. Safeguarding Courses

Please be advised of the following dates for Safeguarding 1 Courses Horse Sport Ireland are running in Conjunction with Sport Ireland for 2016. Please remember that any person wishing to work/volunteer with Children or Vulnerable Adults in Equestrian Sports on a regular basis must complete this training along with their AccessNI/Garda Vetting Check.
